If the price is right

Yea I will admit that for a good period of time, I totally enjoy the the game show. But that’s not what I am talking about.

On Mark’s article on 15 websites/services that he will pay for: Will you pay for the free online services that you have been leeching using and have since built up a high level of dependency on?

I will pay for webspace, for sure. And for a reasonable additional amount, I will topup for the popular tools e.g. WordPress. Dislike the idea of paying 39 merchants to maintain one site.

For someone who has kept her email address and mobile phone number intact for the past 10 years, I think I will be lazy enough to pay whoever that will keep my pain of transfers to a minimum. They may not be that important in my daily life but I do hate changes when it comes to communication.

Decisions decisions

I know I often reminisce about the days where layout designs are the spirit and fireworks for the online dwellers. I know I do that too much.

In good cheer, I am feeling it again. So inspired to not use the uninspiring templates; yet so lazy. Oh so lazy.

Or perhaps ‘cos am watching Jazz trying to catch up with the Lakers in a 2-point game!

Down with number barrier!

Finally. It sure took them long enough to let go of the baby pram. I must admit that after being one of the most loyal customers of M1, I’m looking forward to the new regulation and enjoy full mobile portability from June 13!

I am a sucker for the familiar. I like my mobile number. I like the fact that people whom I have not spoken to for years will be able to call me one day and go, “hey still the same number!” I am sad that way.

Call forwarding is a disguise. Now I cannot wait for October. Sorry to lose my loyalty discount, guess they could have done more to keep oldbies like me.

Now we need free intra-operator calls!

Express Papermache’d

This is almost funny. I know it is not to the Legal department of the express company. If one can build usable furniture from packing material and set up a .com website to publicise it, I am sure he can do more with his talent.

But I don’t care what agreement the shipper & shipping company may have, if its a box that’s shipped to me, I consider it my property. Because if they do think they still own the box after the delivery has been made, they’d better get over here and pick them up or I’m sending them the bill for expenses and labor used to properly dispose of their boxes. — shotfeel / Slashdot
It made me spurt my coffee.

Twitter thy thumbs

When Jasmin mentioned Twitter, (I will shamelessly admit that) I went “huh?” I may spend unnecessary chunks of time on the web, I really had no idea what it meant.

Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

140 characters for the insatiable need to type and to view the typed. For those who are as clueless as I am, this may help.

This is not for you if you’re already avoiding Facebook because of your friends’ status updates. I, on the other hand, enjoy the updates. They make great conversation pieces when you meet up for coffee.

Incidentally, if you are using WordPress and you don’t read the dashboard news (like me), WP2.5 is out.
